1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Humai FZCO ("Mairit", "we", "us"), a DMCC company in Dubai, collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our certified legal translation service. We handle personal information in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Information we collect
When you request a translation or contact us, we collect:
- Contact details, such as your name, WhatsApp number and email address.
- Documents you send for translation, with order details such as the language pair, deadline and the authority the translation is for.
- Messages you send us by WhatsApp or email.
3. What we use your information for
- To prepare, certify and deliver your translation.
- To send you quotes and updates about your order.
- To process payments.
- To answer your questions.
- To keep the records required by UAE law.
- To keep our service secure and reliable.
4. Documents you send for translation
Documents you send us for translation are treated as confidential. Each document is assigned to a UAE Ministry of Justice licensed sworn translator, who sees only the documents for that job and is bound by a confidentiality agreement.
We use AI tools to help prepare a first draft. The licensed translator then checks it against your original, corrects it, and signs and stamps the final translation.
We do not use your documents to train public AI models. Any use of your documents within our own systems is limited to delivering and improving our service and is subject to the same confidentiality protections.
5. How we share information
We share personal information only when it is needed to deliver your translation:
- With the translator assigned to your job, for that job only.
- With trusted partners who help us run our service, such as hosting, messaging and payment providers. They act only on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.
- When the law requires it, for example in response to a court order.
Some partners may process information outside the UAE. When they do, we use the safeguards the PDPL requires. We never sell your personal information or share it with advertisers.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your documents, translations and messages for up to 12 months after delivery, so we can issue extra copies if you need them. You can ask us to delete them sooner. Payment records are kept for as long as UAE tax law requires.
7. Cookies and website analytics
We use essential cookies to run our website, and a few analytics tools to measure how the website performs and how easy it is to use, so we can keep improving it. These tools never have access to the documents you send for translation. You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.
When you tap a WhatsApp button on our website, we add a short reference code to your message so we know which page you came from.
8. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest. Access to documents is limited to the people who need it to complete your order, and it is logged. Every translator in our network is vetted and signs a confidentiality agreement.
No system is completely secure. If an incident puts your personal information at risk, we will tell you and the UAE Data Office as the PDPL requires. To report a security concern, email [email protected].
9. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, to limit how we use it, or to send you a copy. Email [email protected] or message us on WhatsApp at +971 55 947 4486, and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the UAE Data Office.
10. Children's privacy
Our service is not aimed at children. We translate documents about children, such as birth certificates and school records, only when a parent, guardian or authorised person sends them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
