1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Mairit certified legal translation service ("Service"), operated by Humai FZCO ("Mairit", "we", "us"), a DMCC company in Dubai. By confirming a quote or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you order on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation.

Where a signed agreement with your organisation conflicts with these Terms, that agreement controls.

2. The Service

Mairit manages certified legal translation from quote to delivery. Each document is assigned to a UAE Ministry of Justice licensed translation house and/or a UAE Ministry of Justice licensed sworn translator, who checks the translation against your original and signs and stamps every page under Federal Decree-Law No. 22 of 2022 Regulating the Translation Profession. We use technology, including AI, to help prepare drafts. Certification is always issued by the licensed translation house or sworn translator.

Certified translations are delivered digitally. Printed copies, courier delivery, and legalisation or attestation are not included unless they are listed in your quote.

3. Quotes and payment

Each job starts with a written quote by WhatsApp or email that confirms the price, scope and delivery time. Quotes are valid for 7 days. Prices are in UAE dirhams (AED), and any applicable VAT is shown in the quote. Work begins once you confirm the quote and payment is received, unless agreed otherwise. Payments are processed by Stripe.

If you add pages or change documents after confirming, we will send you a new quote.

4. Delivery

The delivery time in your quote starts once you confirm and pay. Long, complex or hard-to-read documents may take longer, and we will tell you before you confirm. If we expect a delay, we will let you know as soon as possible.

5. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

We may refuse any document that appears to be forged or altered.

6. Acceptance by authorities

We prepare each translation for the authority you name, but each authority makes its own decision and we cannot guarantee acceptance. If a translation is rejected because of a translation error, we will correct and reissue it free of charge, or refund that document if it cannot be corrected. We are not responsible for rejections for other reasons, such as missing attestation of the original document or changes to an authority's requirements.

7. Corrections

If you find a translation error, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we will correct it free of charge. Changes that are not translation errors, such as a different spelling of a name than in your original document, may be quoted separately.

8. Cancellations and refunds

If you cancel before work starts, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel after work has started, we will refund the price minus the work already completed. Delivered translations are not refundable, but translation errors are corrected free of charge under section 7. Refunds are made to the original payment method.

9. Content ownership and confidentiality

Your documents stay yours, and you own the certified translation once it has been paid for. We and our licensed translation partners treat your documents as confidential and use them only to provide the Service. How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of liability

We provide the Service with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for errors in your original documents or in information you provide, for decisions made by authorities, or for indirect losses such as missed appointments. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any job is limited to the price paid for that job. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under UAE consumer protection law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force when you confirm a quote applies to that job. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Disputes will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the DIFC Courts, unless otherwise specified in a signed agreement. If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
